Nokia
Actually, Nokia has announced the release of its second NFC handset on previous April 2008 and later in 2009, but no release accomplished. And now, on June 2010, Nokia again announces that the world will enjoy Nokia 6216 Classic on year 2011. The first Nokia’s NFC handset is the clamshell Nokia 6131 NFC which is released in 2007, and the next Nokia 6216 Classic will come in a slim candy bar classic design with a 2 MP camera that enables videocall, a loudspeaker, volume keys at the side of the phone, and large numeric keys for convenience.
What’s so special about NFC phone? NFC stands for Near Field Communication that enables you to receive any digital data from other devices or products with NFC within 4 inches distance. The NFC speed is so much faster than Bluetooth. The first aim of NFC technology is to help people interact with their environment in simplicity. But note this, the interaction can only happen between devices with NFC. In other words, NFC is for exchanging digital data, such as music, files, product information, etc. between the phone and the NFC-installed environment.
For example, if you want to have the whole information from a NFC-enabled map, just point your Nokia 6216 to the map within the range of 4 inches, and all the information will be transmitted from the map to your phone. Nokia’s NFC phone is also bar-code reader/scanner enabled for you to read the whole information of a product including its company history and contact information. It even can tell what product is best for your health. Such an adorable handset, isn’t it?
