HTC Touch Pro2 is the latest release as the fifth generation from the manufacturer. We know the previous versions of HTC have been very successful and the latest one follows suit on quality and form factor – smart phone with wide, side sliding and fully QWERTY keyboard. The variation from its predecessors is its round shape design and comparatively larger in size.
HTC Touch Pro2 sports at the outset – a huge 3.3” screen; big 5 row keyboard; mechanism to allow tilting the display for seeing things better and an array of business features. The package coming along with the phone are a small pouch to carry the phone in a belt case; wall charger; USB cable; spare stylus; headset; screen protector; manuals and software CD.
HTC Touch Pro2 is not for small smart phone fans, as it is measuring the same size of an iPhone, but several millimeters thick and much hefty. If you carry it in your pocket it will be very noticeable. The favorable point is because it is big it gives you a larger 3.6 inches display, with a wonderful resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The touch screen is extremely sensitive and even a slightest flick gets registered. The image quality is beautiful indoors, but once you take the phone outdoor, the display becomes unusable.
For other elements, the band for controlling the zoom level of the camera is at the bottom side together with four keys of send and end; Windows; and “back” buttons. Right above the screen is the Video call camera and there are two LED indicators provided elegantly on either side of the earpiece.
This new business phone has the best feature – the loudspeaker. If you turn it face down you can see the enormous grid-guard along with a button to mute the microphone. Another best is the keyboard – 5 rows in a checkerboard model and alt symbols arranged exactly as a standard computer keyboard, for easy find and use. You will get the experience of a laptop when using HTC Touch Pro 2.

Here is one more smartphone on the famous Touch Series with sophistication and technology upgradation. HTC Snap is a candy-bar handset with the first full QWERTY keyboard since 2007. The manufacturer has made the phone somewhat thin as 12 mm and so you will not have the pocket bulging out, when you carry the phone. The package comes with USB cable for connecting the device to a PC, which has an adapter to turn the cable easily into a charger; software CD; user guide and earphones that are nice looking. The overall measurements of HTC Snap are 4.59 x 2.42 x 0.47 inches (117 x 61 x 12 mm).
HTC Snap has a display typical of such gadgets landscape orientation - in 2.4 inches with QVGA resolution and 65K color support. But the same handicap is there – direct sunlight rendering the display screen unusable. Four prominent buttons – send and end below the screen; two buttons to call up the phone screen or to navigate back into the Menus – are easy to press. The trackball is found between the buttons, but not sensitive enough to touch.
The left hand side of the handset houses large and somewhat comfortable two-directional button for controlling sound volume. On the opposite side there is the miniUSB connector, which is hidden under a protective small flap. HTC Snap has the keyboard of four rows, all keys are of same shape excepting the space button. You can even type with one hand, but people with a thicker finger may find it difficult. Overall the keyboard has many keys that support pre-assigned short cuts – for example your messages or camera interface.
The HTC Snap runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard edition, now familiar to all. The extra addition is the Inner Circle function, which facilitates people who receive many emails and select the ones they wish to see. By pressing the green keyboard button in the lower right corner, you can enable this facility. If you want you can easily switch over from the Inner Circle Function to general email inbox.

The HTC Touch Viva is a trimmed down smartphone model. Measuring only 105 x 59 x 16 mm and weighing only 110 g, Viva is small and lightweight for those who want a smartphone but can’t carry around a miniature pc that feels like a brick in your pocket.
Besides the size of Viva, other positive aspects of it include its simplicity and speed. It has the same Windows Mobile 6.1 operating systems as other HTC phones, but without GPS and 3G the interface is quite fast, possibly one of the fastest Windows mobile phones.
Touch FLO makes the 2.8 inch screen very finger-friendly despite its size. Viva is great for emailing and MMS messaging or sending photos or clips. It uses Opera Mobile 9.5 as a web browser and is very user friendly.
In addition, Viva has a 2.0 MP camera and 128 MB of memory space which is adequate for daily tasks. The phone also comes with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery that allows a talk time of approximately 8 hours and a standby time of 270 hours
On the downside, because Viva is smaller and more compact it lacks some features that high end smartphones have. The lack of 3G makes downloading information or video difficult, so if downloading is important to you, I’d go with a phone that includes 3G. Another frequently mentioned negative about nearly all of HTC’s smartphone is that it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the Viva is no exception. It has a special USB hub for headphones, which forces you to use the headphones it comes with and they aren’t that good.
HTC Touch Viva is a good option for those who want a simple compact smartphone for daily email use and simple functions. Those looking for a high-end smartphone will disappointed with the lack of features and downloading speed.

The HTC Max 4G is a truly innovative new smartphone. It has so far been designed for exclusive release only on the Russian markets and only operates in Russian, however it is a great advance in mobile technology and worthy of reading about (especially if you are a lover of all high-tech gadgets.
