Just after introducing the Voyager in 2007, the manufacturers have come up with LG enV Touch VX11000 – a non-smartphone incorporating a full touch-sensitive display, along with internal QWERTY keyboard. The proposed name “Voyager 2” was retired, as this new model has notable improvements such as – two large 3” WVGA displays; improved user interface; quality of calls; and 3 megapixels autofocus camera.

At the very first look of it, you can easily identify that this new handset is an upgrade from the Voyager, though both have many similar characteristics in design – clamshell form-factor with 2-stop hinges. Unlike the Voyager, the display takes more space in the front; pewter chrome accents surrounding and not shiny and reflective as the mirror chrome. The soft-touch coating remains still in the backside. The size of the handset is -  4.52 x 2.16 x 0.66 inches (115 x 55 x 17 mm).

The external 3 inches resistive touchscreen display is quite impressive, which has WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution, supporting 1.6 million colors. Excepting that it is not touch-sensitive, the internal display is of same size and specifications. The new enV Touch phone has a light sensor, for automatically adjusting the brightness of the external display, based on surrounding light levels and also a proximity sensor. This will switch off the display when you are on a call and take the phone near your face.

The new phone has physical buttons on the front for Send, Clear/Voice Command, and End/Power. On the left side are camera button; volume rocker and lock button; 3.5 mm headset jack; and microSD card slot on the right side; microUSB data port on the bottom; and 3 MP camera with flash on the back.
The QWERTY keyboard below the display has been improved – more rounded edges on buttons; single space key in the center; d-pad larger – to make typing more easier.
The LG enV Touch VX11000– has a lot of improvements in User Interface; Phone Book; Organizer; Voice Command facilities etc., which you will relish very much.

Apple iPhone 3GS – Review

Posted by: Ni2A  /  Category: Apple, Windows Mobile, iphone

apple-iphone-3gs

Apple manufacturers have followed their last year’s product Apple 3G, by an improved version of Apple iPhone 3GS just released.  The new iPhone brings an increase in storage; increased graphics; faster internet and a faster processor to solve the deficiencies, end users pointed out in their earlier version.

They have doubled the memory too – the new iPhone is available in 16 and 32GB versions (in black and white colors). The old 8GB 3G version is also left available to buyers, with a reduced price tag of $99.

For all intents and purposes, the design of Apple iPhone 3GS resembles its predecessor “3G” – what with the rounded edges, chrome trim and hard plastic back. Almost slighter by 1 mm shorter and 0.1 mm thinner with the size - 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.48 inches (115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm) – than 3G.

There are surely some improvements in the user interface and software, enabled by the manufacturers in Apple iPhone 3GS. It runs with the latest version of Mobile OSX and with most useful upgrades of voice command and copy and paste. Though this has already become standard in most iphones, Apple has introduced them only now.

Other new features this 3GS iPhone has – video recording; video editing; UI, the App Store; stereo Bluetooth; and MMS – to cite a few. The voice command is routine, but allows music control in dialing contacts and numbers, playing an album by name, skip tracks, as also ask what song is playing.

Apple claims that they have made 3GS iPhone snappier, by increasing the speed by 2 x with the 600 MHz processor. Voice Memo facility and Compass for navigation are new additions. The most useful part of the Compass is, the maps orientate in the direction faced by you. 3GS supports OpenGL ES 2.0 compatible hardware with a powerful 3D chip and so you can see better playing Internet games.
